This is the full-sized illustration I created for the 2023 Shrewsbury Flower Show. The brief was to create an illustration with a bright, 'festival' feel to appeal to younger families and showcase the different events that can be enjoyed over the weekend. The client wanted my illustration style to match that of my murals, so the aim with to have bold, flatter colours rather than my usual outlined illustrations. The illustration was to be broken down into different layers so that specific elements could be used for a wide variety of marketing purposes.
The design process started with these three rough sketches and then, responding to feedback, I then created this draft outline for the illustration. Below is the style sample and colour scheme proposal.
I created some extra illustrated elements to be used across the website and social media.
